John Newton, former slave trader, seaman, ship captain and composer of "Amazing Grace" once described himself like this:
"I am not what I ought to be.
I am not what I wish to be.
I am not even what I hope to be.
But, by the Cross of Christ,
I am not what I was."
That is an apt description of myself. I am a wretched sinner saved by Amazing Grace.
