The Evolution of a Creationist
The theory of Evolution is caving in on itself. The lack of evidence, the falsified documentation, the fabricated reconstruction of supposed fossils, etc…is starting to catch up with the promoters of this unscientific theory. In addition, with some recent events, formations and processes which were once thought to take place over millions and billions of years is being witnessed in an extremely short period of time (Mt. St. Helens & Spirit Lake).
Even with this stack of evidence against evolution, many Christians are still committed to trying to make this pseudo-science mesh with the Bible. Jobe Martin was one of them. As a committed theistic evolutionist, he was challenged by a couple of students to study the assumptions of evolution. After several years of researching the evidence, he finally had to conclude that the only credible method of creation is stated in Genesis 1 and 2 and was completed in six 24 hour days.
This book is his testimony. Each chapter deals with different aspects of the inherent conflicts between evolution and Christianity. A few of those aspects include the 6 day creation week, the DNA record, age of the earth, monkeys to man and the missing links. It is well documented, but not only from Creation Scientists. Dr. Martin draws from resources of committed evolutionists who are honest enough in their writings to admit that the lack of evidence is a serious flaw in the system. The tragedy of that honesty is that even though the evidence speaks volumes to the reality of an Intelligent Designer, these committed evolutionists refuse to accept that premise. Dr. Martin is convinced the only reason is that it would force them to submit to the Creator, which their sinful pride will not allow.
Another fun feature of the book includes a short sketch at the end of each chapter of various creatures that are incompatible with evolution. The structure of these fabulous animals inarguably refutes the theory that parts evolved. In reality, none of these animals would exist if ALL the parts were not fully formed and functioning in the very FIRST one.
The Evolution of a Creationist includes some complex scientific ideas (DNA structures, methods of carbon dating, components of elements, etc…), but is written on a level that most anyone can understand and enjoy. Jobe Martin is the founder of Biblical Discipleship Ministries (www.biblicaldiscipleship.org). At his website is a wealth of information on various subjects. Under "Creation vs.Evolution" is a list of articles that mirror what's in the book. This should help.

It is amazing the lies that more fundamentalist Christians tell about factual evidence and in doing so also calumnize the consciencious work of many scientific researchers, who are most often Christians themselves, just to bolster their unnecessary beliefs about the order of life and the history of the earth and reinforce their own pride in an innerant Bible. In doing so these fundamentalist Christians break their own Eighth or Nineth Commandment (however you number them) against lying and impuning the well-borne reputation of others. I dare say this man's ministry is a completion of that sin against the Commandment against lying. Certainly this book is such.

I dare say, or better, I dare you to read the book and examine the evidence objectively. Dr. Martin did that. He used to believe that life originated in a primordial ooze and that the "Big Bang" is what jumpstarted the process of evolution. He found out he was wrong all along - but he approached the subject objectively and truly wanting to know truth. You may find some interesting information if you give a shot.

Why? Is it any different than the tired, well-worn anti-evolutionist arguements one sees all over the Internet today? Examine the evidence objectively? I have done so as a geologist all my 'public' life. Certainly, Jobe Martin did not, and that is why I so accuse him.
There is no truth in saying that the destruction/sedimentation at Mount St. Helens as Martin states happened in that short amount of time unknown to geologists. Martin like so many on the Net leave out all the facts concerning that event,the type of sedimentation, the geochemical consequences, and the ultimate preservation of sediments in an area such as that. It is not applicable outside of volcanism associated with subducting crustal fragments of a certain geochemistry. But do they go into the specifics? No. Glossing over facts and not looking at the specific evidences then constitutes a lie on the part of Christians.
There is a wealth of factual evidence concerning the actual history of the earth. It ranges from the more simple physical evidence of superposition of strata (stratigraphy) and a succession of life as shown by fossils to ever more complexity such as structural and regional tectonism and paleogeographical reconstuctions to detailed geophysical and geochemical evidences.
All of that consciencious work, which fits together into a coherant whole about the earth's history and the evolution of life and as I have said much by Christians, is swept away by Martin and many others without even considering it as it then MUST NECESSARILY BE LIES. And as to this statement of yours:

I'd be surprised at that belief myself as one certainly couldn't jumpstart the other since they were some 10+ billion years apart and one need not have anything to do with the other. Martin did not truly find anything because Martin like anyone calling themselves a creationist does not in truth look to all of the evidence.

Yeah why bother reading any book that gives ya proof... isn't it better to shoot your mouth off when you don't even know the facts for yourself Lij.
Please do yourself a favour... try to disprove it. Try and disprove that God IS the Creator.
Better yet... try looking at a picture and thinking it appeared after a BIG BANG noise went off... cause ya see... if you were to look at a painting.. you'd KNOW that there was a painter.... if you look at a building... you KNOW that there is a BUILDER... so why oh why when you SEE creation... do you not believe in a Creator?
Foolishness is the greatest sadness. People so quick to hold on to a lie so they can go on in life pretending there is no God... I just don't get it!
